There is no specialized journal focusing on information literacy published in the Czech Republic. However, there is a special IL issue of a peer-reviewed journal ProInflow that was published in We have decided to include this issue in the list as well. Since than many articles on that topic have been published, many seminars and conferences organized and teaching librarians discovered several platforms suitable for sharing information, experiences and good practices.
Many master thesis and some doctoral dissertations have been focusing on the topic of information literacy or more theoretically on the educational aspects of library science and librarianship.
Also, and most importantly, information literacy courses, classes and workshops became part of curriculum at many universities. There are also IL programs being implemented in to the curricula at the elementary and high schools. The position of teaching librarian has been established on numerous universities and information literacy development became a part of long-term plans of several universities.
There was a lot of work done, but there are also many tasks ahead of us. Nowadays, for example, the focus is on finding ways how to assess the outcomes of information literacy program and how to find out if our students are learning what we are trying to teach.
